Local Balinese Brands at Sira Village Attract International Visitors

DENPASAR – Local Balinese products available at Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali are attracting significant interest from international visitors. The presence of local Balinese brands at Sira Village is also creating new opportunities for Bali’s small and medium industries to showcase their products alongside globally recognized brands.

I Komang Kartika, E-commerce and Exhibition Supervisor at Sunaka Jewelry, said that since opening at Sira Village with support from the mall’s management, the store has attracted international tourists as well as domestic visitors from Jakarta and other major Indonesian cities.

“Weekends are the busiest. We also have local visitors, with the ratio at around 60% international tourists and 40% domestic tourists. Most international visitors are looking for gifts that they cannot find in their own countries. Our Bali SMI gallery can be one of the options available here at Sira Village,” Kartika said on Friday, August 14, 2026.

Local Balinese Brands Gain Greater Exposure

Kartika explained that the opportunity to establish a presence at Sira Village came without the business having to approach the management team first.

“We didn’t even have to apply first. The Sira Village team approached us directly. For small and medium industries that have previously found it difficult to enter major shopping malls, this opportunity opens the door and allows us to prove that local products can compete with brands in the same class,” Kartika said.

Tantowi Yahya, President Director of PT Grand Outlet Bali, said the presence of Bali’s small and medium industries at Sira Village challenges the perception that local products cannot compete with global industries.

Located within the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali provides a platform where Bali’s local businesses can showcase their products alongside internationally recognized brands.

The participating businesses are fostered by the Bali Provincial Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda Bali). Their products range from handicrafts and locally designed fashion to organic soaps and silver craftsmanship, demonstrating the quality and competitiveness of Balinese artisans.

Bali’s Local Products Alongside Global Brands

Curated local brands include Sunaka Jewelry, Darmawan Silver, Kahyangan Jewelry, Ipong Design, Ipong Art, Basudewa, Kembang Sari Batik Painting, and Phalam.

Bringing local creations to an international market no longer has to depend solely on overseas exhibitions. Sira Village creates an opportunity to bring international visitors directly to a curated showcase of Balinese creativity and craftsmanship.

“Sira Village is opening its doors as widely as possible to small and medium industries fostered by Dekranasda. This is not about competition, but collaboration. We are providing space for Bali’s local businesses so that our local creations, with their uniqueness, distinctive character, and quality, can become increasingly recognized around the world,” Tantowi said.

Supporting Local Economic Growth

Zefri Alfaruqy, Head of Communications at PT Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID), said the integration of local businesses into a modern retail environment is part of the company’s commitment to community empowerment and local economic growth.

“From the beginning, we wanted Sira Village to be more than just a shopping destination. We want it to be a place where local communities can grow together. The presence of businesses fostered by Dekranasda Bali reflects our commitment to building an inclusive and sustainable business ecosystem. We hope it will continue to create a positive impact for the surrounding community,” Zefri Alfaruqy said.

Through the presence of Bali’s local businesses at Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali, local products are gaining greater opportunities to reach both domestic and international markets while introducing the creativity, craftsmanship, and quality of Balinese artisans to visitors from around the world.
